Mrs. Estelle Zauner-Maughan gave a very interesting and informative on the methods/functions of a Chiropractic practice. Estelle an Australian by birth is a founding father and executive member of the UCA, and works at “Naturally Chiropractic” in Tynemouth she is passionate about health and appreciative of the wonders of this life.

The Chiropractic art began in 1895 by Mr D.D. Palmer and is now the largest most regulated drug free profession in the western world. Estelle went on to tell us all about the import advances in the science around the effect in the brain this is called Proprioception which is the process by which the body can vary muscle contraction in immediate response to incoming information regarding external forces, by utilizing stretch receptors in the muscles to keep track of the joint position in the body this is important as it refers to the body's ability to sense movement within joints and joint position.

This ability enables us to know where our limbs are in space without having to look. It is important in all everyday movements but especially so in complicated sporting movements, where precise coordination is essential.. Estelle finished with a number of health questions showing how everyone could benefit in their life style by changing some of our everyday habits drinking plenty of water was one of her easiest suggestions.

Questions followed on several points to conclude the presentation.
